Bow Tie Club Inspires Students at Crossroads

Bow Tie Club Inspires Young Men at Crossroads Elementary

(HARRISON COUNTY, MS) A group of students at Crossroads Elementary definitely stand out due to their dapper attire. Every Tuesday, about 30 students arrive at school dressed in their Sunday best. What usually draws the most attention is their fashionable neck wear.

The young gentlemen are members of the school’s Bow Tie Club. Once a week, they proudly don their bow ties and gather to take on a service project. For instance, on December 1, 2020, they delivered cleaning supplies to each classroom to help ensure the health and safety of all the students and staff. Another favorite activity involved eating lunch at a local restaurant to learn proper table etiquette.

The mission of the Bow Tie Club revolves around the ‘five wells’: Manners, discipline, education, balance, and being well-dressed. The goal is to promote a positive learning environment, encourage community service, and inspire future leaders. The club sponsors are just as excited about wearing their bow ties and they enjoy their role as mentors in helping guide the young men on the path to success.
