Two HCSD Cafeteria Managers Win MS Cupcake Competition

(November 11, 2024)—Please help us give a huge shoutout to two of our talented HCSD cafeteria managers!

Mr. Russell Scott of Crossroads Elementary and Mrs. Sylena Mendoza of Woolmarket Elementary competed in the “Cupcake Wars” this past weekend in Tupelo at the 54th Annual Mississippi School Nutrition Association Conference. We are excited to share that Mr. Scott captured the first-place prize, and Mrs. Mendoza won second-place honors!

"We are incredibly proud to show off our culinary skills to all the Child Nutrition Directors and Managers from across the state as we brought home both first and second-place awards!" said HCSD Child Nutrition Director Brad Barlow.
