Surprising February HCSD Teacher of the Month Drawing Winner

(March 14, 2025) – Please join us in congratulating Mr. Jay Hogue as our February District Teacher of the Month drawing winner! Mr. Hogue is the welding instructor at the Harrison County Career & Technical Center. He was rather “speechless” when we surprised him with the great news on Thursday.
 
You may not know that Mr. Hogue completed the welding program at the CTC when he was a student at Harrison Central High. He worked for over 12 years as a welder for Ingalls Shipbuilding and did pipe welding for Northwind Fabrication. In 2006, Mr. Hogue returned to the welding program as an instructor.
 
This year, the school's welding team won first place in the district competition, and an individual competitor placed second. Both will advance to the state competition. We wish them the best of luck!
 
We want to thank the Huntington Learning Center and Educate & Celebrate of Gulfport for presenting Mr. Hogue with lunch from Canes, a certificate, gift cards, balloons, and other goodies!
