Rotary Distributes Free Dictionaries to HCSD 3rd Graders

There were a lot of smiling faces at Harrison Central Elementary on Wednesday! The Rotary Club of Gulfport-Orange Grove visited HCE to give each 3rd grader at the school a free dictionary. Rotary members also played a fun trivia game to show the students how to use their dictionaries to find the answers to challenging questions. The students even learned how to use sign language. They were so excited about their new books that they got to keep!
 
The Rotary will visit more elementary schools in HCSD in the coming weeks to distribute dictionaries to 3rd graders. We would like to thank the Rotary for this wonderful gift to help our students sharpen their reading skills and prepare for the upcoming 3rd-grade State Reading Assessment! We are so grateful for the club’s generosity and support.
