August Teacher of the Month Drawing Winners Surprised at School

(September 17, 2024)—Today, we had the joy of surprising and celebrating two amazing teachers in the Harrison County School District! Our first stop was Bel-Aire Elementary, where we surprised Ms. Alice Lindsay, the winner of our Novice Teacher of the Month drawing for August!
 
HCSD partnered with the Huntington Learning Center and Educate & Celebrate of Gulfport to kick off this unique teacher appreciation program this year. Every month, the principals at all 24 schools in HCSD will submit names of their teacher of the month and novice teacher of the month. Those names will be entered into two separate drawings, and the winning teachers will receive a meal of their choice, a $50 gift card, and balloons.

We also had a lot of fun surprising a fantastic teacher at River Oaks Elementary on Tuesday! As Dr. Denise Sims entered the cafeteria, she was greeted with applause and cheers.
