Woolmarket Teacher Surprised at School After Winning Radio Contest

(November 12, 2024) – It was the surprise of a lifetime for an instructional coach in the Harrison County School District.

Well-known radio personality “Part-Time Justin” Chavez from the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show KiddNation visited Woolmarket Elementary on Tuessday to surprise Mrs. Allison Breland with exciting news! Mrs. Breland screamed with excitement when she saw Justin walk into the classroom. He announced that Mrs. Breland had won a trip for two to the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida! 
 
Mrs. Breland listens to the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show every morning before heading to work, and she recently entered the radio program’s Classroom Giveback Getaway contest on 105.9 The Monkey. Last week, she learned she had won $500 to purchase analog watches to teach her 3rd graders how to tell time and prepare them for the upcoming state assessment. She had no idea she was one of five teachers from across the country selected to win the Florida getaway prize—until today!
 
Mrs. Breland received a beach towel and sunglasses from Part-Time Justin. A representative from 105.9 The Monkey radio station also presented her with a t-shirt. Mrs. Breland says she will ask her husband to join her on the trip next year. If he cannot go, she will invite her principal, Dr. Meagon Touchstone.
