D'Iberville High Mom Named HCSD 2025 Parent of the Year

Posted Date: 1/14/25 (8:53 PM)

(January 13, 2025) – Tonight, the Harrison County School Board honored Mrs. Cathrina Jasper as the 2025 HCSD Parent of the Year! She was quite surprised when her name was announced during the special presentation.

“It’s a great honor! I still can't believe it!“ said Mrs. Jasper.

Mrs. Jasper is a proud DHS alum. Her son, T.J., is a senior at D’Iberville High. She has two other children: Jay, a  2017 DHS graduate, and Nevaeh Jasper, who attends Creekbend Elementary & Middle School. This prestigious recognition reflects her dedication, hard work, and support of both her child and the school community as a whole.

“As a parent, being actively involved in your child’s educational life and extracurricular activities is crucial for their development and future success. Your involvement communicates to your child that their education and personal growth are a priority, fostering a sense of value and motivation in their learning journey,” said Mrs. Jasper.

Mrs. Jasper says one of the highlights of her involvement at DHS is preparing meals for the football team. She has also contributed significantly to fundraising efforts for the booster club, along with organizing the homecoming parade to celebrate the school’s spirit, unity, and history. Mrs. Jasper has volunteered on numerous occasions to support teachers and has worked to build relationships with families.

“These experiences have been incredibly rewarding, and they reaffirm my belief in the power of collaboration and community engagement to create a positive and enriching environment for our students,” said Mrs. Jasper. “I am personally grateful for the open invitation D’Iberville High School extends to their parents and community.”

We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. Jasper for her commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment, actively engaging with teachers and staff, and continuously striving to make a difference in the lives of others. Her involvement strengthens our district, and we are incredibly grateful and proud to have her as part of our HCSD family!
