Here’s how gifted teacher Mrs. Nicole Winans reacted when she heard the exciting news:
“After attending the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District workshop this summer, I applied for an Environmental Education grant and was awarded $1,000. My students and I are so excited to be able to start a long-awaited community garden at North Woolmarket Elementary & Middle School! We have so many engaging lessons planned, from the designing and building of the garden space to the harvesting of herbs and vegetables and observing the pollinators and other wildlife the outdoors provides. Thank you, Mississippi Power, for investing in our students!”
