Meet the New Head Boys Basketball Coach at D'Iberville High

(June 7, 2024) – Please join us in congratulating Coach Eric Vianney Guiako on being named the new head boys basketball coach at D'Iberville High School! 
“Coach E” started his career as an assistant basketball coach at Pearl River Central High in 2016. A year later, he became an assistant basketball coach at Picayune Memorial High and then became the head basketball coach for the Maroon Tide for the 2018-19 season.
In six years as head coach at Picayune, Coach E. led the Maroon Tide to three district championships. He was also named three times as “District Coach of the Year”, made six playoff appearances, reached his 100th career win, made back-to-back state final four appearances, and won a runner-up state championship in 2023.
Coach E. was born in Cameroon, Africa. As an exchange student, he moved to the United States during his senior year of high school to pursue a better education. Coach E. attended Picayune Memorial High, where he had the opportunity to study and play basketball.
Coach E. graduated in 2005 and earned a full basketball scholarship to play at Illinois State University. After completing the college basketball season of 2005-06 as a Red Bird freshman, he transferred to Tulane University in Louisiana. Coach E. graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Sciences.
Coach E. is married and shares a one-year-old son with his wife.
